Katie Houghton-ward has been illustrating comics for over twelve years now and doesn’t plan to stop any time soon. Best known for her early work with the creator owned series ‘Deckheadz’ which featured weekly for five years in top music magazine ‘3D world’ Katie then went on to work free-lance in New-Zealand with top companies such as Trade Tools and Hitachi for there hit web comic true ‘IT tales’.
She got her first international break with the Harvey Award nominated series Doug Paszkiewicz’s ‘Arsenic Lullaby’ and then Went on to work with Doug on the trilogy ‘Laughter of the Damned’.Katie is now working on her latest comic ‘Khulan’ which has just been optioned By U.S magazine ‘Heavy Metal’.
Some of her major influences are artists such as Eric Canette, Frank Miller, Simon Bisley, Bernie Wrightson, Frank Frazetta, Gustav Klimt, Francoise Mucha and many more..
Currently working on her next series ‘Khulan’ she is available for free-lance work and fine art contracts.
